Portrait of Faith: New Orleans Exhibit

“Portrait of Faith: John Paul II in Life and Art,” an exhibit including artworks dedicated to the late Pope, vestments and articles from his 1987 visit to New Orleans, will go on display at the New Orleans Museum of Art from March 8 to June 16.

The exhibit will be presented by the Archdiocese of New Orleans, the New Orleans Museum of Art and The Museum of Biblical Art of Dallas, Texas. Archbishop Gregory Aymond, who was quoted in the exhibit announcement, said, “the Archdiocese is especially thrilled to display the monstrance from the 1938 Eucharistic Congress which is especially fitting since this year is the 75th anniversary of that event. We also thank the Blessed John Paul II Shrine in Washington, DC for offering some items from their collection for this exhibition.”
